After receiving dilating drops, how long do you recommend that patients wait before driving?

Do not plan on driving for 4-6 hours after receiving dilating drops. For safety, we recommend that you bring a driver as the drops will cause your vision to become blurry and make your eyes sensitive to light.

Would you advise patients to have refraction done after their eyes are dilated?

No: the drops used to dilate eyes cause your vision to become blurry. Refraction and dilation (for scans and internal examinations) should not normally be done on the same day.
