Dr. Ronnie Bhola is a member of the Trinidad Eye Hospital team. He was born in Trinidad and did his MBBS degree at UWI, Jamaica.
After several years of service in the public hospitals in Trinidad and Tobago, he returned to school and completed his skill development as a consultant with subspecialty training in Vitreous and Retina Surgery, in the UK. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and holds a Certificate of Completion of Higher Specialist Training from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (London).
To date, he has done over ten thousand of retina surgery procedures, as well as more than ten thousand of cataract surgeries.
He is a member of the Ophthalmological Society of the West Indies (OSWI) and an Adjunct Professor with the Moran Eye Center. In the past, he has served OSWI as Secretary/Treasurer and The University of the West Indies as an Associate Lecturer. Openly sharing his research and surgical techniques, he has over fifty peer-reviewed publications and has made numerous conference presentations regionally as well as internationally.
